Summarization API

Summarization is a feature of the Agent Assist API. This functionality allows you to summarize customer interactions—such as emails, chats, or transcribed calls—into concise and actionable insights.

How It Works

  1. Provide Input Content: Submit the content to be summarized. This can include a transcript, email, or chat_log. The input should be structured as clearly as possible to ensure accurate summarization.
  2. Choose Summary Type (Optional): Use the summary_type parameter to specify the format or focus of the summary. Supported values include:
    • factual: Focuses on objective facts and events.
    • detailed: Provides a richer summary with more context and nuance.
    • technical: Emphasizes technical content, useful for engineering or product-related interactions. If not specified, the system will default to a factual summary.
  3. Generate Summary: Send the request to the summarization or summarization-async endpoint. The response will include a short summary highlighting the main points, decisions, actions, and any follow-up required.
